About me

I didn’t set out to become a parent educator.

Hi, I’m Rachel. I’m a wife to Brent, mom to two teenage girls, and deeply familiar with the mix of joy, fear, and faith it takes to raise children well.

I’ve been married to my husband, Brent, for 22 years and counting, and together we’re raising two teenage daughters and a Sheepadoodle who keeps us all entertained. We love adventure—especially the kind that doesn’t always go as planned. We’ve traveled the country in an RV, found ourselves in some exciting (and sometimes scary) situations, and made memories I wouldn’t trade for anything. I’m so grateful my girls have been able to experience our beautiful country in such a hands-on, unforgettable way.

Before all of this, I spent years in the classroom as a sixth-grade teacher. That season opened my eyes to something I couldn’t ignore: parents weren’t failing—they were confused. Kids were growing, changing, and pushing for independence, and parents didn’t always know how to adjust their parenting along the way. Too often, they were reacting instead of parenting with a plan.

That question—how do we parent for the long game?—changed things for me.

At home, I was raising two daughters of my own and learning firsthand that parenting isn’t about control, perfection, or quick fixes. It’s about planting seeds, building relationships, and slowly learning how to loosen our grip without losing connection. So much of what I teach has been shaped around kitchen tables, long drives, hard conversations, and quiet prayers.

As my girls grew, I felt a clear calling to help other moms navigate parenting with more clarity and confidence. That calling led me to start Seeds of Impact, a nonprofit where I work directly with moms in recovery, teaching healthy parenting principles and helping families break negative cycles.

Today, I teach parenting through the lens of principles over strategies, relationship over control, and faith over fear. Through the Raise & Release podcast and my work with moms, my goal is simple: to help parents raise confident, capable kids—and learn how to release the outcome with trust.

I don’t believe we’re responsible for how our children turn out.
I believe we’re responsible for showing up faithfully.

If you’re looking for encouragement, clarity, or simply a reminder that you’re not alone, I’d love for you to join me. You can listen to the Raise & Release Podcast for honest conversations about parenting in every season, or spend time in the Raise & Release Journal, reflecting on the lessons, principles, and stories we’re walking through together. Wherever you start, my hope is that you find a soft place to land—and the confidence to keep parenting with faith and trust.
